Get the app
Nook works in any browser, but you can also install it on your phone or computer so it opens like a regular app — no App Store or Google Play required.
Modern phones and computers let you add any web app directly to your home screen or taskbar. Once installed, Nook opens in its own window — full-screen, no browser bars — and feels just like an app you'd download from a store.
It takes about 10 seconds and nothing is downloaded to your device. Your data is always stored in your account, not on the device itself.
iPhone & iPad
Use Safari — this doesn't work in Chrome or Firefox on iOS.
You need to be logged in to the app first. The install option only appears once you're inside Nook, not on the marketing page.
Go to usenook.app/app in Safari and log in to your account.
At the bottom of the screen, tap the Share button — it looks like a square with an arrow pointing upward.
Scroll down in the share sheet and tap "Add to Home Screen".
Confirm by tapping "Add" in the top right corner. The Nook icon will appear on your home screen.
Android
Works in Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers (Samsung Internet, Edge).
You need to be logged in to the app first. The install option only appears once you're inside Nook, not on the marketing page.
Go to usenook.app/app in Chrome and log in to your account.
Chrome will often show an "Install app" banner at the bottom of the screen — tap it.
If you don't see it, tap the three-dot menu ⋮ in the top right and choose "Add to Home screen".
Confirm by tapping "Install". Nook will appear in your app drawer and on your home screen.
Desktop
Works on macOS, Windows, and Linux in Chrome or Edge. Firefox doesn't support installation.
You need to be logged in to the app first. The install icon in the address bar only appears once you're inside Nook.
Go to usenook.app/app and log in to your account.
Look for a small computer icon with a download arrow on the right side of the address bar. Click it.
If you don't see it, open the browser menu (⋮ or ···) and look for "Install Nook" or "Install app".
Confirm the prompt. Nook opens in its own window — no browser bars. It's added to your taskbar (Windows), Dock (macOS), or app launcher (Linux).
Coming soon
We're working on native apps for the App Store and Google Play. Once available, you'll be able to install Nook directly from the store — same account, same data, nothing changes. We'll announce it by email when it's ready.
